What Is WebMCP?
WebMCP is an emerging web standard that lets a website tell AI agents running in your browser exactly which actions it supports. Instead of an assistant reading and clicking through pages on its own, it calls the site's published tools directly and gets accurate, structured answers. What an AI Agent Can Do Here

get_course | Returns the full details for one course, plus related guides and the FAQ answers about it. |
recommend_course | Recommends the right course from what a person does on the job (works in or around excavations and trenches, foreman, supervisor, or safety manager responsible for daily inspections, soil classification, and choosing protective systems), the same logic as our course guide. |
list_resources | Lists our guides, standards summaries, and policies, with the date each was last reviewed or updated. |
answer_faq | Finds the published FAQ answers that match a question and quotes them word for word with a link, or says it doesn't know. |
get_credential_policy | Explains exactly what our certificate is and isn't, so an assistant doesn't overstate it. |
get_price_quote | Calculates the total for any number of seats, including the automatic bulk seat discount. |
search_site_content | Searches our FAQ answers, course curriculum, and policies. |
get_certificate_verification_info | Explains how an employer can verify a certificate and links to the verification tool. |
get_topic_guidance | Summarizes soil classification, protective systems, daily inspections, underground utilities, emergency planning, and State Plans, with links to our guides and the OSHA text. |
start_checkout | Opens checkout with the course and seat count already selected. This is the only tool that does anything besides look things up, and it can't pay. |
What Always Stays With You
- Payment: an AI agent can open checkout, but it can't pay. You enter your own card details and click Pay yourself.
- Review: when an assistant sets up your checkout, the page shows a note asking you to confirm the course and seat count before paying.
- Your data: the tools only read public course information. They don't collect or store any personal information.
How to Try It
Use a browser or AI assistant that supports WebMCP, open ExcavationTrenchingShoring.com, and ask something like "Which excavation course does my foreman need?" or "What would 30 seats of the Safety course cost?". If your browser doesn't support WebMCP yet, the site works exactly as usual.
